1. Initial (Acute) Stage
Treatment begins by following the RICE principles:
- Rest – allowing the injured area to recover
- Ice – to reduce pain and inflammation
- Compression – to limit swelling
- Elevation – to assist circulation and healing
2. Post-Acute Stage
As healing progresses, treatment focuses on:
- Gentle, non–weight-bearing mobilisation
- Muscle tone and activation exercises
- Ultrasound and Interferential therapy to promote tissue repair
- Deep tissue massage therapy to restore flexibility and reduce residual tension
3. Rehabilitation Stage
Once the injury is stable, we move into a more active recovery phase including:
- Partial and full weight-bearing strengthening exercises
- Proprioception (balance and coordination) training
- Functional rehabilitation advice tailored to your sport, work, or lifestyle
